La Cantine Vagabonde

A lovely little canteen, cute and bright, one of its kind in the rather bare Stalingrad neighbourhood. Against a soigné décor of flowered wallpaper, tea party china and pretty mismatched furniture, owner Lila cooks a fresh daily vegetarian-oriented menu, with a choice of two starters, mains and desserts for €12 or €15. We tried soba noodles with crunchy vegetables, sweet potato tart and an excellent board of Auvergne cheeses – not everything shines, but the palpable enthusiasm and smiling service add up to a very worthwhile address.
