Queues got so big at Le Louchebem in the historic Les Halles district of Paris that they opened a second restaurant across the street. Le Lamfé is chicer than its big brother and just as adored by carnivores. The ‘restaurateur boucher’ doesn't exist in Britain – it’s basically a family butcher-run restaurant dedicated to fine cuts of meat, with expert emphasis on origin, freshness and seasonality. Come openly worship at the altar of fabulous French classics like an enormous prime rib (for two) with house chips, steak tartare, French veal, and offal dishes so fine they can almost be called noble. Lamfé’s gourmet coffee and desserts round things off perfectly. Sit on the terrace for the best people-watching.
