January 17th to March 31st at the Théâtre de Vanves
ES3 Argyroglo Callias Bey
The Théâtre de Vanve's dance and theatre festival, Artdanthé, maybe 14 years old this year, but there's nothing terrible about this teenager: Founder José Alfarroba's two-month-long event is going from strength to strength, bringing together fifty three theatre and dance troupes for no less than sixty one shows that push the boundraies of contempoarary dance and theatre.
What to expect...

Aside from presenting new creations, the festival is all about resuscitating the best of plays and dance shows gone by; like Loïc Touzé's 'La Chance' (presented for the first time in 2009 at the Mettre en Scène festival in Saint-Jacques de La Lande ), which studies how dancers approach dancing - their bodies, their memories and the sensations dancing creates.

This year, Quebec is the 'country' of honour, with six shows presented as part of the "Ma gang de Montréal" programme (between March 9th and 24th), including 'Rouge' by controversial director and performer Julie Andrée T, who uses red paint and objects to portray blood, shame, emotion and sensuality.
