Kehoe’s namesake may be long dead, but the pub’s magic lives on. Its current iteration was completed toward the end of the Victorian era. Awash with era-appropriate charm like stained glass, dark mahogany panels, leather bar stools, antique mirrors, and partitioned snugs, it harnesses the kind of homely heritage newer pubs try to mimic. Photographs of famous Irish figures (some of whom are former clientele) line the walls, adding to the refined atmosphere. If not immediately identifiable by a convivial crowd, Kehoe’s bright colours, teeming planters, and delightfully 70s-style neon sign will guide your way.
Time Out tip: If you can, grab a seat in the snug at the front. On top of a more tranquil experience, it is the best spot for people-watching both in and outside.
