It’s not just about the views at this rooftop cocktail bar, fourteen floors up at Aldgate’s Hotel Saint. However, let’s be real here – they are pretty impressive. You can certainly see why this place proves a popular spot, with a backdrop to the high-quality drinks including close-ups of the Gherkin, 122 Leadenhall Street and a charming bit of history in the case of St. Botolph Without Aldgate – a beautiful 18th-century Anglican church almost within touching distance.
Thankfully, drinks match the views. There’s a really strong list of signature cocktails (we like the Blooming Fire – a spicy mix of Belvedere Vodka with Thai green chilli-infused syrup, mango juice and passion fruit purée), but their G&T game is strong too, and there’s the kind of Champagne selection you’d expect from a City spot. There’s a superb range of tequila and mezcal, too.
Keep an eye out for some great special events, especially the daytime parties with very decent DJs.
